Taking its origins in the Western part of the Mediterranean Basin, the lavender was already used by the Romans to keep linen and perfume the bath. In Provence, it has been used since the Middle Ages for the creation of perfumes and medications, but its culture has spread from the 19th century.
The lavender flower helps fighting nervousness, stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression... and is also a precious help for digestion, migraines and joint stiffness.
To brew the lavender flower: pour hot water (around 95°C) on the flowers (1 or 2 coffee spoons for 25 cl) and brew for 4 to 5 minutes. Three times a day if necessary and before going to bed to fight against insomnia.
